| The economic benefits in brief:
- No additional peripheral equipment
- Long equipment life cycles
- No expenditure on consumables
- No additional personnel expenses
- Modular design concept
- One software platform for all Sirona imaging systems
- PC-independent hardware (XAB)
- Fewer PCs required
- Enhanced earnings potential within your dental practice

Rapid returns.
It's not a question of whether digital X-ray pays off, but a question of how quickly. When comparing "digital versus analog" you have to look at the total cost of the process. The initial capital outlay for a digital X-ray unit is higher than for a conventional film-based equivalent. However, once this initial investment has been written off, all subsequent X-ray exposures are practically free of charge. And this pays dividends throughout the long economic life of the Sirona digital X-ray systems. You economize on labor costs. Expenditure on consumables is eliminated altogether. For start-up practices digital X-ray pays.

Greater freedom of choice.
The Sirona digital X-ray units do not require dedicated PCs. Instead, each ORTHOPHOS unit and each intraoral sensor terminal is equipped with its own image acquisition board (XAB) and can thus be plugged directly into your practice network.
In such a networked configuration, each individual X-ray module (e.g. ORTHOPHOS, wall box, intraoral sensor) can be accessed and controlled directly from any terminal in your practice. The X-ray images are saved automatically to the patient database. The benefits are clear: you need fewer PCs. And you enjoy much greater freedom when designing your practice network.
New sources of earnings
| Digital X-rays not only boost efficiency but also unlocks new sources of earnings potential. For instance, as you no longer need a darkroom you can devote the available space to other productive purposes - for example, a preventive treatment room. |
